Project Details
65 Fleet Street is a large commercial office building of approximately 325,000 Sq/ft. The building had previously been occupied by a large legal practice over the seven upper floors and two basement levels. The internal fit out was extensive throughout the building and mainly consisted of individual offices and small meeting rooms to all floors. Our scope required that all internal finishes, atrium glazing, staircases and blockwork walls were removed back to the existing structure with the exception of the external perimeter cladding which was to remain.
As our soft strip works progressed our team installed KGuard to all open edges around the central atrium, staircase voids and riser openings.
All mechanical and electrical services had to be carefully isolated and removed whilst maintaining supplies to the two live tenants located within the ground floor demise of our building.
Many of the internal partitions and walls were double lined and soundproofed for client confidentiality so the volume of the soft strip within the building was far greater than a traditional office building. The only vehicular access to the building was via a small loading bay located on Whitefriar’s Street. Due to the sheer volume of material to be removed, our team carefully removed a section of the retained cladding to provide access to an external scaffold loading gantry. The installation of this scaffold gantry helped the team double the disposal volume from the site and maintain the programme.
The project was completed on programme and within budget.
